About Me

This is me with my lovely husband Rick.  This photograph was taken at our nephew Adam's wedding in June 2014.

I did work in the NHS but took early retirement in March 2011.  I was a PA in my last position which I did enjoy but having suffered through ill health since July of the previous year my husband and I decided that it would be better for my health if I took early retirement.  I now spend my days creating in my own piece of crafty heaven.

I am an avid crafter who loves nothing better than spending time in my craft haven creating and using all my craft goodies.  I have been crafting most of my live in one way or another.  My dad taught me how to knit and I can remember sitting next to my nan while she taught me how to knit my dolls clothes which included knickers and vests.  I had the best dressed dolly on the street.

I have also dabbled in embroidery and cross stitching as well as crocheting.  I learnt to crochet when I lived in Turkey using a fine crocheting hook and cotton which they call Dantel.  It is very big over there and a lot of the young girls make table cloths, doilies, edgings for towels, pillow cases etc for their bottom drawer.

I got into paper crafting about 20 years ago now.  I first making cards for family and friends which I still do today.  I donate my cards to various charities to help raised funds. I also dabble in mixed media, parchment and journaling. I blog everyday on my card making blog. I also have a You Tube channel where I publish a video 3 times a week.

I have been on the design team for My Craft Studio and my cards have appeared on Create & Craft.  This year (2017) I have the privilege of being a Creative Crew Member for Canvas Corp Brand which are based in the USA. I am also a brand Ambassador for IndigoBlu a company based in the UK.

This year I set up my own Etsy shop selling designer papers and ephemera. You can find Emerald City Crafts UK here.

I have met some really lovely people through my blog and I just love sharing my creations for everyone to see.

Last year I decided to split my work and set up a new  blog for all my mixed media and journaling projects.  If you would like to see what I have created click here.
