Family

Good Morning Crafty Friends

I am feeling a little better today, hoping to keep some food down me today.

You all know I love Tim Holtz, lets face it who doesn't!
Well yesterday I managed to get a ticket to one of his workshops in September, an early birthday present to me as my birthday is the day after.

Today I have used on of the Tim Holtz Etcetera small wooden tag to create this project.

Step by Step

1. I adhered Tim Holtz tissue paper to the back and front of tag then gave it a wash with Gesso, once this was dry I stencilled either side of the tag the brick wall stencil with modelling paste.
2. Once this was dry I used Distress Paint Vintage photo and gave it a colour wash again both the back and front.  Once dry I then went over with Distress Oxide Peacock feathers.
3. The door hinge and Family have been distressed with vintage photo paint, once dry distressed with DO peacock feathers adhered door hinge to the top of the tag.
4. Cut out the suitcases and then added the paper dolls as well as different ephemera from my stash along with a pen nib and some string before adhering "Family"
5. To finish off I added seam binding and made a bow out of different fibres but turned the bow upside down so the tails where stood up.

Good Morning Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

I hope you are all well!

Today I am off to Leeds and then onto Doncaster for the craft show, really looking forward to catching up with my crafting friends too.

We have both been watching YouTube videos on this technique and decided to have a go ourselves.

Oh my word it is addictive!

This is my first pour using my favourite colour combination purple, orange and green.

For a first attempt I was really chuffed with this one!

Here is my second pour!

I absolutely love this one! I am going to put it in my dining room.

Well as soon as I came home I have brought all the other tools that I needed and intend to have another couple of trials and will then do a YouTube video!

I hope you like my first and second attempts as much as Deb and I did.

Thanks for stopping by today!

While I was away staying with my friend Deb, I did do a bit of crafting.

Today I am sharing with you a project which involved a spool and flower pot.

I painted both the flower pot and spool with green metallic acrylic paint.
Once dry I added pearl trim around the base of the flower pot.
I then decorated the spool by first wrapping lace around the centre piece and decorated with flowers.
I made a whole in the top of the spool and added a piece of dowling painted metallic green and used hot glue to secure. Once this had set I added the metal butterfly and decorated around the base with flowers.

So excited today as it is the first challenge over at Emerald City Crafts Challenge Blog!

It is a monthly challenge blog and is always Anything Goes.
It is just for fun but the winner and top 3 will get a badge for their blogs.

You can create any project from mixed media to cards as long as it is a new project!
Looking forward to seeing my crafty friends enter this challenge.

Here is my project for the challenge I have used the Nostalgia digital papers and ephemera from my Etsy store.

This is the lid of the box I have painted with IndigoBlu tan acrylic paint, added the paper and ephemera, these are actual photographs of my own family. I then dry brushed IndigoBlu Pheasant Bronze Metallic paint around the edges. To finish off added the metal embellishments and a tag with the word family adhered to it.

The inside of the box has been stippled with Imagination Crafts Structure paste, painted, dry brushed and a felt lining in the bottom.

As you can see the outside of the box has been given the same treatment as the inside.
