Kitty Love

Good Morning Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

I hope you all enjoyed your day yesterday, no crafting but lots of admin done so today I am going to having a sort out of my shelves and possibly some crafting later.

As you all know I have 2 cats, Tiggy and Fluffy who is my baby and the naughtiest of the 2!
She torments Tiggy who is 4 years older and teases her so she will move from her spot on the settee so she can sit there, they make me chuckle every day.

4. Matted and layered topper onto Kraft Card which have also been distressed around the edges with foam pads for dimension.

Decisions, Decisions...

Good Afternoon Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend.

I had a nice relaxing weekend spent at home which is unusual as I am usually spend time going to workshops at the weekend, so it was nice to spend time at home, I have another weekend at home next week and then the workshops begin :)

I have been umming and arghing as to whether to start selling my mixed media projects and handmade cards.  After chatting with a few of my friends I have decided to try and sell them from my blog to begin with as I haven't sold any in quite a while.  I do get private messages on Facebook asking if I sell my cards and sold quite a few that way.

If you, my friends, have any hints and tips you would like to share on where and how you sell yours it would be greatly appreciated.  Also what do you charge?  I don't want to under sell but at the same time don't want to over charge either.  I suppose it is finding that happy medium.

At the top of my blog I have created 2 pages one for mixed media and the other for cards.
I would be interested to know what you think and your experiences.

Enjoy your day!
Thanks for visiting!

Maria Simms Workshop Makes

Good Morning Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

Today I am sharing with you my makes from the workshop held by Maria Simms which I attended on Saturday 9th July in Preston.  I didn't show them before as Maria had another workshop teaching the same and didn't want to spoil their day.

I really enjoyed this workshop, learning new techniques and revisiting techniques I hadn't done in a while.  Don't you find that you forget to use the old techniques you have used after a time and move onto other techniques.

We created 4 projects, one of the techniques I was able to make 2 cards.

I am looking forward to the next workshop in August

Enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by.

Artful Days - Card

Good Morning Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

Today I am sharing another design team project for Artful Days goodie box.

There is a new goodie box available every month with a new theme which is announced on the 25th of July and sent out early in August.

I have created a YouTube video of what contents are available for July if you want to see what you receive in the box.

My next project is a card using some of the contents.

Onto an 8 x 8 white square scalloped edge card I matted and layered Kraft card.  Taking 2 of the Prima Vintage Emporium notecards I cut into 2 pieces each measure 7 x 8.5 cm, distressed the edges with Tim Hotlz distress pen aged mahogany.

I then took a piece of the dictionary paper and tore around then distressed with aged mahogany.

Using string from the packaging I wrapped around and then adhered to base card.
I trimmed down the Tim Holtz Found Relative card and matted and layered onto Kraft card.
I added the metal charm which reads "live your dream"

To finish off I added buttons to two corners, 4 blue pearl gems and die cut word friends.

Artful Days - Tag

Good Morning Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

Today I am sharing with you my first design team project using contents from my Artful Days goodie box.

If you would like to see what you get in your goodie box for this month then you can watch my YouTube video.  July's theme is Vintage Family.

My first project is a tag and I have created a step by step tutorial.

The tag measures 21.5 cm x 9 cm and I have added a double layer of lace to the bottom.

I tore a piece of the dictionary paper and distressed the edges with Tim Holtz Aged Mahogany Distress Ink Pen

I next cut down one of the Tim Holtz Found Relatives card and attached at an angle.

I then cut out the chair from one of the Prima Vintage Emphorium note cards, distressed the edges with distress pen in aged mahogany.

Using my PVA glue with fine nib attached the die cut word cherish.

Created 3 flowers with large and small paper flowers and added pearl gems to the centres.

To finish off, I  used the string and curling ribbon from the packaging the goodies came in to thread through the hole at the top and curled the ribbon with my scissors.

This is the first of four projects and I still have enough left over for a couple more projects.
Great value for money!
