Ready for the Prom

Good Morning Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

Well I had a blast yesterday with my lovely friend Kath at Ikea.  Three hours we were in this store which is only 5 minutes from where I live, bless her she treated me to lunch too which was yummy.

Kath needed new items for her new craft room and bought quite a bit, I got some new boxes and jars. I came home and made a start on reorganising everything and throwing a lot of old tatty boxes out and now all my crafting goodies are in new boxes and labelled.

Clear plastic boxes £2 each, the larger one has another layer which was £3 but is brilliant as you can just lift it out and put it on your desk.

These cardboard boxes were 3 for £3.75 and are very sturdy

These jars were only 40p each and I love them for my buttons.

No onto today card which I made a while ago but forgot to blog.

Recipe

1. DL white card which I have matted and layered patterned silver embossed card.
2. The second layer is lilac pearlescent card which I have embossed with Embossalicious Flourish embossing folder.
3. The corset is from Tattered lace and has been cut out with purple pearlescent card.
4. I attached the tulle under the corset and added clear gems to the tulle.
5. To finish off I have added the Sentiment Congratulations and clear gems to the corner.

Shabby Chic Pennant

Good Afternoon Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

Another scorching day today, just how I like it!  A very busy morning, domestic engineering all done and dusted, washing is out and now time to get into my craft room and get some DT work started.  I have a busy couple of weeks ahead for DT work.

Today I am showcasing a shabby chic pennant, I am fairly new to this but I am soooo loving this and hoping to make more in this style.  I made this for a challenge over on Chic Craftique Facebook group, there are some seriously talented crafter's in this group. The Americans sure know how to create fantastic shabby chic projects.

The You Tube below explains what products I have used and how I put the pennant together.

Shabby Chic Flowers

Good Evening Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

I promised that I would show you all some of the flowers I have made whilst at Kath's yesterday.  We had a lot of fun making these flowers and I am in the process of crocheting some flowers and doilies. Once I have a few more to show you I will at a later date.

The above flowers were made after watching Michelle Pipeling  you tube video
The yellow floral flower is made exactly the same but I made a different couple of flowers by using a smaller circle for the white one and then doing one layer and adding lace to the other one.

These flowers above Kath taught me how to make these. The red ribbon flower has a crocheted flower I made with a button for the centre, the twisted rose is my first attempt and not too bad.  The flower with the black beads are 4 large ovals and then 4 small ovals pinched together in the middle to form petals I added tulle to the base.  The red and white pom pom is red and white ribbon joined together and twisted before joining both ends together.

These are my favourites, the one of the left has been made with my crocheted doilies, I adhered 4 doilies folded to form petals and then placed over the cream lace. To finish off I added a wood button.  The pink flower has pink crocheted doily, lace and then a small crocheted flower with a pearl in the centre.

The one on the left is made using a felt circle for the base with turquoise polka dot material cut into half circle then folded into quarter and arranged around the circle. The next layer is net curtain done the same as the blue.  The centre is a large heart gem.  The next one reminds me of a water lily, the base is green crochet doily and white chiffon, I haven't quite finished with this one yet so watch this space.

I hope you have enjoyed your visit today to see what Kath and I got up to yesterday.

A Little Shabby Chic

Good Morning Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

I had a fabulous time yesterday with Kath, we made lots of lovely flowers which I will show you in a later post. I had fun too learning to use a very simple straight stitch with a cute little machine that Kath has given me.  It sure is going to be interesting to see how I progress...

Today's card is made using one of the freebie vintage sheets from Astrid.  She has some gorgeous vintage papers and tags.

Recipe

1. 8 x 8 cream square card.
2. I printed off the backing paper twice and decoupaged the image and made the tag. I distressed around the paper with DI Bundled Sage.
3. I pleated the lace and adhered to one corner, the green doily is what I made which I adhered to the card with Pinflair.
4. In the centre of the doily I added flowers, metal leaves and a stick pin.
5. To finish off I added a metal corner and a double cream bow with a pearl gem for the centre.
