Faith and Hope

Good Evening Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

I have arrived home safely after a busy couple of days in Leeds, I hope you are all well and have been enjoying the nice sunny weather we have been having.  It is nice to be home and I had lots of lovely parcels to open too.

Today's card I have used an Iris topper from the Kew die cut topper set from Kraftyhands. The meaning for the blue iris is faith and hope and symbolises eloquence.

8 x 8 Scalloped white card
First layer is gold pearlescent card
Second layer is Core'dinations card which has been embossed using Die'sire Emossalicious Regal Swirl.
The topper has been matted onto gold mirri card which has been die cut using a spellbinder die
The bling across the card is what I bought last year on holiday in Turkey.
To finish off I have added a sentiment, feather and stick pins which have been coloured with my Copic's

Second Blog Candy Giveaway Winner

Good Morning Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

Today is my second blogaversary!  How the time has flown and what an adventure it has been so far.  I have met and made lots of lovely crafting friends, not only bloggers but Facebook crafty friends too.
When I retired I just planned on being able to spend time crafting and doing what has helped me through some very difficult times the past 2 years.  I am now fortunate enough to have worked with amazing crafters in the Industry and been privilege enough to be on the design teams for Mike and Ian over at Kraftyhands, Stephanie Weightman (My Craft Studio), Kay Rutter (Hougie Board), Oyster Stamps, Ali Crafts, Ally Higginbottom, Sue Andrews (Jems Designs), Sam Austin (HobbyFun) and of course blog challenges too.

Mike and Ian asked me to work with them looking after our AMAZING Design Team and look after the office.  I get to see all the gorgeous and lush things that will be coming your way and even get to play with them too. How lucky am I!!!!

I wish to thank you all for your continued support, commenting and being such amazing crafty caring friends.   You all inspire me and I hope in some small way I inspire you all too.

Now I bet you are all dying to know who the 2 lucky winners are?  There were 75 comments, a few had been duplicated and I had commented too so that brought it down to 65 comments.  My husband picked the following numbers:

Drum Roll Please

The First Winner

Unclaimed so removed after one month

Second Winner is #21

Altered Box

Good Evening Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

I hope that you have all had a good day and managed to get some crafting done.  Today I decided that I needed a storage box for my Crafty-Emblies as they were all over the place and wanted to store them in the one place so I was searching my drawers for the ones that I wanted.

I had a box that needed a new lease of life so I sanded it down and painted it first with some funky green paint (I am in the mood for green at the moment), I let this dry and then painted a thin layer of watered down PVA, once this was dried I then painted over using cream emulsion paint.  I let this part dry and then finished it off with my heat gun.  This produced a lovely crackled effect on all of the box.

I then took my stippling brush and using Distress Inks Peeled Paint I stippled all over the entire box.

I then took my alphabet stamp and stamped the letters for "Crafty-Emblies", heat embossed the letter, then I used a Kaiser clock stamp and stamped over the letters.  Taking a bottle of Cosmic Shimmer Mist Rich Gold I spritzed over them.  Used my heat gun to dry and then cut them out.  I then used attached them to the box with Pinflair and added a few of the wooden cogs.  Viola a nice new storage addition for my crafty-emblies.

Thank you for stopping by Today and I hope to see you again Soon

Postcards Steampunk

Good Afternoon Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

The lovely Tracy Moss from Cardmakers Delights emailed to ask if I would be interested in using her postcards on a few card samples for her.  I did a few cards for her last year and they are gorgeous cards to use.  She knew I loved my Steam Punk and send me quite a few of these fabulous post cards.

I would highly recommend my crafty friends to visit Tracy's site as there are an amazing array of toppers from cute to vintage to steam punk.

Today's card is made using a couple of these Steam Punk postcards and I made another one for that male relative in your life.

A5 Kraft card
First layer is black card which I have matted a piece of gorgeous paper from London Market from Pink Paislee which was part of my Christmas present off Mike and Ian (Kraftyhands) which I have inked the edges with DI Vintage Photo
I have distressed around the postcards with my scissor and then inked around them before matting them at an angle onto black card.
To finish off I have added 2 charms and 6 buttons  and sentiment from my stash.

Vintage Treasures Wall Hanger

Good Evening Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

Today I had the pleasure of meeting one of my crafty friends Kath Mucky Paws Halstead who doesn't live too far away from me. We met up for lunch and had a good natter and she is just lovely.

Today Mike and Ian from Kraftyhands have been on Create and Craft with an assortment of the fabulous CD's.  As you all know I work with the boys and look after the design team.  I managed to watch the first half of the show this morning before I went out and they were going through the samples and mentioned me!  I nearly fell of the couch but chuffed to bits :)

This is what I made using the gorgeous Vintage Treasures CD.  I wanted to show crafters not to be afraid to use your CD's for altered art too as they add to your crafting arsenal. I made this wall hanger.

The wall hanger has been painted with Pebeo Acrylic paints, PVA and cream emulsion to get the distressed look.
Around the frame I attached purple ribbon with beads on.
The picture has been printed off from the CD and I added pearl gems and stick pins.
For the hanger I crocheted a braid using lilac ribbon and attached to the back with staples
To finish off I added feathers, lace, roses and a beautiful stick pin.

Steampunk Box

Good Evening Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

Whew what a busy day I have had, went to see my Dad this morning and then went to see my Stampin Up upliner Debbi.  Got home this afternoon and managed to see Sheena Douglass' Paint Fusion show on Create and Craft.  I have done some painting this weekend and will be posting a card on Wednesday.

Tonight's box started life as a flat pack from Crafty-Emblies which I have painted with Pebeo Acrylic paints and then painted over this with Cosmic Shimmer Watercolour paint in Copper.  I then stamped the lid with VersaMark and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer embossing powder in black.  I have then attached wooden embellishments again from Crafty-Emblies.  I plan to use this to store my Steampunk bits and bobs.  Stamps used are from Ally's Inky Finger's, Freebie from DoCrafts Magazine and Personal Impressions

This is the box painted before stamping

Inside base stamped with Free DoCrafts Chronology stamp set

Lid of box stamped with Ally's Inky Fingers stamps
centre stamp is from Personal Impressions

Side view of box with Crafty-Emblies wooden embellishments

Crafty-Emblies is a small family run business but do the most amazing wooden embellishments and are adding everyday.  I just love them, you can ink, paint, spritz and even use some of their emblies as stencils.

Good Morning Crafty Friends and Followers

Today is time for our second challenge over at Lacy Sunshine Challenge Blog.  Our challenge this fortnight is "use your favourite colours".  Now anyone who know me knows that my favourite colour of all time is Purple any shades so of course I had to use this colour but I have combined it with grey.

I have used Berryclaw Bears makes a Bear which is another of Heather Valentin's digis.  You can purchase this digi here.  This is the only official and authorised shop for Heather Valentin Digital Stamps.

I stamped a thimble using Dew Drops Pearlescent Lavender and placed this as the stopper for the easel.
Front of the card I have stamped scissor using Dew Drops Pearlescent Lavender using the scissors from my Stampography Dress Stand stamp set
Using the rest of the grey floral card I have cut out using Spellbinders Label 1 die.
I printed of the image and cut this out using the above die.  I then coloured this using my Copic Ciao Pens.  I distressed around the image using PanPastels natural grey and using Spica pen in purple added faux stitching.

Believe

Good Afternoon Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

Housework all done, waiting for washing to dry and then get some ironing done.  I am hoping to get into my craft room later on and get some crafting done.  I am going to be playing with my new Stampin Up stamps and inks, see how the mood takes me.

I finally finished sorting out my craft room yesterday so it is all nice and tidy and got rid of a lot of rubbish.  Some items I have decided to sell, as they are just sitting there and not being used.  It is funny how your crafting changes over the years.  Anyway here is today's card.

First layer is from First Edition Boho Chic papers which I have wrapped some lace around.
The second layer is from my stash which I have cut into a scalloped circle using my Spellbinder Die

F is for Florence

Good Evening Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

It has been a lovely sunny day today but definitely chilly.  Went to see my mum this morning to catch up.  Decided to have my hair cut into a bob and so pleased with it now it is off my neck, it was driving me mad!  A lot of you will know that I have naturally curly hair so to see it straight after nearly 12 months of it being curly was a bit of a shock but I like it, the beauty of it being layered that I can still just wash and go and leave it to dry naturally.

This evening I decided to do some paint fusion, I haven't done this is quite a long time and I have really enjoyed doing it.  I have painted the letter "F" for my granddaughter's bedroom, I did one for Alice so decided to get this done so I can take it with me when I go and see them on Sunday.

I have painted it lilac underneath and then PVA and emulsion and crackled it by drying the paint.
The stamps are from Sheena Douglass' Paint Fusion Simply Sweet Set
I have used Pebeo Paints
