Elizabeth

Good Evening all

I hope the weather has been kind to you today, it has been lovely sitting in my craft room making cards in the sunshine.  I have spent today catching up on my DT work but I did make a card for my blog this evening for you all to see.

The lovely Artist Sherri Baldy from Scrapbook Stamp Society sent me a few Digi's the other day, I have posted one yesterday and today I have Elizabeth the musician.  She was a dream to colour and I knew exactly the colours I wanted to use for this fabulous Digi, you can purchase her here.

Recipe & Method

1.  Base card is from Kanban and has a curved edge.  To this I have adhered a sheet of paper from Quintessential Country Garden Backgrounds from MCS.  This background has musical notes, and flowers on which fits Elizabeth very well.
2.  I have added brown lace down one side and attached pearl gems.
3.  I have used Dew Drops VersaMagic in Thatched Straw and Pumpkin Spice on the doily blending the colours together and also on the edge of the topper too.
4.  Elizabeth was printed onto Neenah Card and cut out using Spellbinder Lacey Oval die.  I then coloured her in using Spectrum Noirs.  Using my musical stamps from Dimension Stamps I stamped a muscial note and the word Harmony on the topper in Dew Drops VersaMagic Pink Petunia.
5.  On the doily I have added "Where words fail Music speaks" and a coupe of notes.
6.  I have made my flowers which has a musical theme paper and added some pale pink pearls.
7  To finish the card off I have added pale pink ribbon to a music note charm and added pearls to the top right hand corner.

The Age of Steam

Happy Monday to all my crafty friends and followers

Well as I sit here writing this post we actually have blue skies with fluffy clouds!  It is very windy and chilly but this is much better than grey skies and rain.  I hope you all have a wonderful day and the weather is kind to you all.

Today's card is made using one of Jem's Designs CD's called The Age of Steam, as some of you know I love steampunk but haven't made anything with this theme for a while.  I made this on Saturday night and really enjoyed making this.  The image I have used is called Maddie.

Recipe & Method

1.  The base layer of the card is A4 Acetate which I have scored and folded to make an A5 card.
2.  I printed off the insert onto cream pearlescent paper and using double sided tape I attached to the acetate.
3.  On the front of the card where the tape was showing through I added another strip of double sided tape and added black glitter, this then hid the tape.
4.  I printed of the twisted pyramage sheet again on to cream pearlescent paper and cut out.  The first layer I used Crafter's Companion Stick and Stay and using foam pads added the layers.
5.  To finish off the card I have added black swirls, cogs and black and white ribbon.  I also added some pearl gems down the side of the black glitter strip and on three corners of the topper.

Up, Up and Away

Good Afternoon everyone

Well as I sit here in my craft room overlooking my garden, the sky is grey, the wind is blowing and of course it is raining!  I sure hope May is a much nicer and warmer month than the month we have had here in the UK.

This afternoon/early evening I am posting a card using one of the new Digi's from Scrapbook Stamp Society.  Sherri Baldy is the lovely lady behind this fabulous site along with many great artists.  Sherri asked us Society Girls which of us wanted to play with the New Digi's I said of course!  This is just one of them, I had such fun colouring this image in which is called "80 days with Nellie by Sherri Baldy.  While I was colouring Nellie and her Balloon in a song kept coming back to me "up, up and away in my beautiful balloon"  I don't know who sang this but I do remember it from my youth.  LOL :)

Recipe & Method

1.  I have taken a piece of A3 pearlescent white card and scored and cut to make a stepper card.
2.  From my stash I took a piece of pale blue card and using my Spellbinders Grande Labels 23 I have cut out layer one.  Using Pan Pastel in ultramarine blue I have distressed the edge to highlight the embossing.
3.  I took a piece of multicolour mirri card and using Spellbinder Grande Scalloped Rectangle I have cut out the 2nd layer.
4.  I printed off Nellie onto Neenah Card and coloured her in with Spectrum Noirs.  I then cut her out using Grande Labels 23.  I then used Pan Pastel in ultramine blue and white and softly embossed the rest of the card to give a sky-like look.
5.  Using pale blue ribbon from my stash I have added it to part of the stepper and made a bow and added 2 hat pins.
6.  To finish off I have used Whimsy dies, vines and elegant butterflies.  I have added pale blue gems to the vines and the butterfly.

April Showers bring May Flowers

Good Morning to all my crafty friends and followers

Well I hope if you go out today you wrap up well and take your umberellas, it is absolutely dreadful here in Warrington!  The above saying isn't wrong as I think we have had a handful of dry days here in Warrington!  Let us hope that we get a decent summer this year.  I really hate the cold weather!

Today my card for you all is one I have made using Heather Valentin's digis called Emily Rainy days and you can get her over at Scrapbook Stamps Society at the Digi Shop.  She is just a real cutie and is so apt for todays weather.

Recipe & Method

1.  The base card measures 21 x 15 cms  along the width of the card I have scored at 6½, 9½, 14½ and 19½ and folded to create a zig zag card.
2.  The paper is from My Minds Eye Vanity Fair pack of 6 x 6 papers.  I have put this on the first fold and the 3rd fold.
3.  I printed Emily off onto Neenah Card stock and using Spellbinder Romantic Rectangle die cut her out.  I have coloured her in using Spectrum Noirs.  For the rain and puddle I have added glossy accents.  I have used Dew Drops VersaMagic Pink Petunia to distress the edges and then added her to the front of the card.
4.  On the 2nd fold I have added ribbon to match the colours in the paper and tied it into a knot and added to hat pins.
5.  To finish off I have added flowers and gems from my stash on the 1st and 3rd folds.  The sentiment I stamped onto Neenah card and cut out using Spellbinder Label 25 die.  The sentiment reads "Friends fill your life with Joy, your soul with sunshine and your heart with love.

The Digi Bells DT GDT Call

Good Afternoon to all my crafty friends and followers

I did plan to post this card this morning but my housework etc took longer than expected.  Anyway better late than never.  Today is your last chance to get a card made for the Digi Bells DT GDT call.  I love my Elisabeth Bell stamps, they are so versatile and can be used for any occasion.

I have used one of the stamps I won over at Elphine House.  She is called Daisy Hugging, isn't she just adorable?  I have made this card for my Best Friend Lesley who will be moving today.  I am going to miss her very much but I know that this is the best move for her and I wish her lots of luck in her move.  The verse I have stamped say's "To the world you may be just one person, but to one person you are the world".  This is a quote from someone called Syner.

Recipe & Method

1.  Card base is Brown 8 x 8.  I have matted pale blue Centura Pearlescent card as the first layer.  The second layer is papers from K and Co, the bottom piece has faux stitching.  Before laying onto the first layer I have attached ribbon, this ribbon is what Sue Smith uses on her fabulous creations.
2.  Using the pale blue Centura Pearlescent card I have cut out a label for my verse and Spellbinder Decorate Window Scene die.
3  I stamped Daisy onto Neenah card and cut out using the same Spellbinder die as the label.  I then coloured Daisy with my Spectrum Noirs.  I distressed the edge using Dew Drops VersaMagic Sahara Sand.
4.  Layered Daisy over the Window scene and the label alongside.  I attached some amber gems to finish them off.
5.  The finishing touches are flowers and leaf from my stash and a heart shaped button onto the bow.

Fairy Girl Forget-me-not

Evening all

I hope you have all had a fabulous Tuesday.  I have had a nice relaxing day, doing a bit more tidying in my craft room and colouring my stamps and digis.  Tonights card is a digi called Fairy Girl Forget-me-not by the very talented Artist Morgan Fitzsimons and you can buy her here.

When I saw this fairy I had an idea that I wanted to play with and I hope you like what I have done.  I printed the fairy onto Neenah card and coloured her in using my Spectrum Noirs I draw around the wings on Parchment and then cut her out and cut off the wings.  With the parchment I have embossed and coloured with Dew Drops Brilliance Pearlescent Orchid.  I then pricked around the wings and cut out with my tweezer scissors to give a serated edge.

This is the completed card

This is a close up of her wings using Parchment

The backing paper is white card which I have stamped swirls in Perfect Medium and then using Cosmic Shimmer Iridescent shimmer powders dusted over the whole of the page.  I then stamped a couple of butterflies and heat embossed them in pink and silver embossing powders.  I layered this onto pale green silk art card and added my backing card.  I have added pale green ribbon down the side.  Using parchment again I punched out two butterflies using Martha Stewart punch.  I inked them using Dew Drops Brilliance Pearlescent Orchid.  Down the centre of the butterflies I have added pale green gems.  The flowers down the bottom right hand corner I have added glossy accents and glitter.

Strawberry Kisses

Good Evening my Crafty Friends & Followers

Well after a busy day catching up on my blog admin and commenting on all your fabulous creations I finally made a card.  I hope you have all had a good day.  I have done some washing and getting the shopping done so that I don't have to do anything except housework this weekend.  I am intending to spend the whole weekend playing with all my crafty bits and making cards for me!!!

Well today's card is a stamped image from Crafter's Companion Strawberry Kisses range.  While I was in Leeds I was able to play and coloured this stamp in using Promarkers, I was not confident using these alcohol pens but Mike taught me how to use them.  I have the full range of Spectrum Noirs so I have promised myself that I will spend Sunday watching Leann's CD and colouring.  I have always used watercolour pencils but after being shown how to use the alcohol pens I am hooked.  I was really thrilled to be able to get the effect that I wanted for this particular image.

Recipe & Method

1.  Base card is Centura pink pearlescent card cut down to measure 6 x 6.
2.  The black layer is Core'dinations Black Magic which I cut out using a Spellbinder die and then embossed using Spellbinders M Bossabilites Simplicity folder.  I then distressed the card to reveal the core colour of pale pink.
3.  I stamped and coloured the image "Yum" using Promarker pens and then cut out using Spellbinder Rectangle die.  I distressed the edges with Dew Drops Brilliance Pearlescent Orchid.  I have highlighted the ice cream using Cosmic Shimmer Twinkles.
4.  Down the side I added a double layer of self adhesive borders from my stash and some deep pink pearls from my Stash
5.  The sentiment is from Kraftyhands sentiment diecuts.
6.  The swirls and vines are Whimsy Shapeology Dies, Vine and Foilage.

Rick's Birthday Card

Good morning to my crafty friends, new followers and followers

We it is sunny here in Warrington but oh my goodness it sure is very chilly!  I hung my washing out in record time I can tell you!

Today I am showing you my card I made for my hubby's birthday yesterday!  I did make him one earlier in the year and put it away in a safe place, so safe I forgot where!  So Friday I spent remaking the card!  Before I show you my card I must tell you that my hubby Rick is a very keen gardener and he has this fasination with gnomes, we have them all over the garden and conservatory!  All shapes and sizes and I have threatened his family the severe punishment if they get him another one!  So with tongue in cheek I made him this card so he wouldn't feel sorry he didn't get a real one.  I just caught the beginning of Stamp Addicts on C & C and they had a set of stamps with gnomes on so I bought it there and then.  Well I will show you my card now :)

Recipe & Method

1.  Card base is 8 x 8 Pearlescent card which I have rounded the corners with my X-Cut corner punch.
2.  All 3 layers have been cut using Spellbinder Die, sorry can't remember the number in mink pearlescent, green silk card and the topper is Neenah card.
3.  I stamped the image using Momento ink and coloured the image with Derwent watercolour pencils.
4.  Distressed the edges of the topper with Dew Drop VersaMagic ink Gingerbread.
5.  The sentiments are from my Paintbox Poppet Stamps from Crafter's Companion
6.  The butterfly and bumble bee are from my charm stash.

Another busy day here in my little piece of crafty heaven.  I hope you are all having a good day.  I have finally got my Husband's birthday card made, I did make one and put it somewhere safe and couldn't find it so I have had to make him another one!  Anyway today is a card I made using one of Sassy's digi's called Steampunk Vivien.  I have used her in the past and felt she needed to come out again.

Recipe & Method

1.  Base card is from Kanban Craft.
2.  I have used left over paper from my K & Co paper stash and distressed the edges with Dew Drops Brilliance sky blue.
3.  Before laying down the first layer I have added some purple ribbon.  I have added jump rings to the charm which says "imagine" and attached it to another piece of ribbon and tied this onto the band of ribbon.
4.  Printed out Vivian onto Supersmooth card then cut out using Spellbinder Die Labels C and edged using Dew Drops Brilliance lavender.
5.  Using a piece of left over  lilac lace I have made a flower and added to the centre a large floral gem.

Laura Flower Girl

Hello my crafty friends and followers

I hope you have all had as a productive day as I have had.  I have finally finished one lot of DT work and after my evening meal I am going to get going on another lot of DT work.  As I am typing this here in my craft room the sun is shining in through the window and feels lovely and warm, there is a bit of a breeze which is quite chilly.  I am a bit late in posting today but once I got into the "Zone" with the cards I have made I just knew if I stopped I would loose my ideas.  Anyway you don't want to hear me babbling on and want to see my card.  I hope you like it, I have used Laura Flower Girl, this is one of my favourite Elisabeth Bell stamps and you can purchase it here.

Recipe & Method

1.  Card base is from Kanban Crafts.
2.  I have matted and layered onto the front and inside of the card using paper from my K & CO paper pack.  The inside matt I have punched out a butterfly in each corner using my Martha Stewart corner punch.
3.  I have distressed the scalloped section off the card using Dew Drops Brilliance using Sky blue as well as the edges of the topper.
4.  I have stamped Laura onto white Supersmooth card and cut her out using my Spellbinder scalloped circle die.  I then coloured her in using my Derwent watercolour pencils.
5.  I attached a butterfly charm to jump rings and threaded blue ribbon through and made a bow.  The swirl is from Memory Box which I have added blue gems and some roses which have been distressed with the same ink which is mentioned above.  The butterflies are punched out using my Martha Stewart punch. I have added pale blue gems down the body and as the butterfly trails.

Yasmine

Good morning to all my crafty friends and followers

We taken time out to post my next and last card from Jem's Designs CD Exquisite for the moment.  I chose Yasmine because of the beautiful colours which are up there on my list of favourite colours.  I hope you are all having a lovely day no matter what you are doing.  Here in Warrington we have just had a heavy shower of rain, sky is cloudy with bits of blue sky popping through.

Recipe & Method

1.  Base card is A4 pearlescent white card folded to make an A5 card.
2.  Using My Craft Studio graphics programme I have printed off the backing sheet.  I then shrunk the decoupage sheet so that the image would fit perfectly inside the backing sheet.
3.  I have matted the backing sheet onto pearlescent mink coloured card.  I have attached feathers to give further dimension and used Ranger Glossy Accents to the gem on the sheet.  On the pearls around the backing sheet I have added glitter.  I have added a sentiment and of course flowers which are all from my stash.
4.  I cut out Yasmine and placed her on the backing paper and once decoupaged I have added glitter to her gown.

Dragon's Realm

Good evening all

A quick post from me tonight.  I made this card last night using Jem's Designs Dragon's Realm.  Oh my there are some fabulous dragons on here and all have been given names too.  I hope you like what I have made.  I enjoyed taking it into my graphics programme and playing.  With the postage going up at the end of the month I wanted to see if I could get the same effect matting and layering in the programme and here it is.

Recipe & Method

1.  8 x 8 Pearlescent white card has been used for the base card.
2.  Using My Craft Studio Professional programme I have layered the 8 x 8 backing topper along with the topper which I shrunk to fit inside the backing paper. I then print this out and using Spellbinder Die Grande Square cut it out.
3.  Taking the journal into the programme I shrunk this down and then I cut out the label from the sheet of labels and then using the Text programme I added the name of the dragon and changed the colour using the colour picker to match the colour in the topper.
4.  I cut the journal and label out.  I added to brads to the journal and attached with foam pads as I did with the label.  I then glittered the wings of the dragon.

Leyla

Good morning my crafty friends and followers

Whew what a busy day I had yesterday.  In total I finished one lot of Design Team work and made 3 cards for me :).  In total I made 9 cards yesterday, admittedly I should have gone to bed  but you know when you are in the zone you just have to keep on going or when you go to bed your brain won't switch off.  Must admit though when I did get to bed it took me about an hour to get to sleep.  Well refreshed today and I have done quite a few jobs that needed doing before posting this card.

I made this card using Divine Divas which is a collaboration between the Glitter Girls and Jem's Designs. I love the beautiful divas on here and I picked Leyla.  When I was married to my first husband who was Turkish, his cousins little girl used to call me Leyla and it stuck, so for 12½ years that is what I was called. :)  I have made a very simple card to show how very versatile CD crafting can be!  Using CD's can be as intricate as you want it to be as there are a lot of computer programmes that you can alter the images, backing papers, toppers etc to suit the size of card you wish to make.

Recipe and Method

1.  Base card is Centura Pearlescent card from Crafter's Companion folded in half to make an A5 card.
2.  I printed off the backing paper and the topper from the CD.
3.  I matted the backing paper on the the base of the card and the topper was matted onto silver mirri card.
4.  I have added lace which I bought from Polkadoodles at Harrogate and added the sentiment Birthday on top.
5.  To finish off I added black pearl swirls and on the other 3 corners I have added black pearls.

Anyway I made this card a few weeks back and found it whilst I was looking for hubby's card.  I have used Sherri Baldy's Gritty Giraffe Ballerina which you can purchase here.  This is just one of the fabulous digi's you can purchase from Scrapbook Stamp Society I just love these cute giraffe characters and have made a couple of cards in the range.

Recipe & Method

1.  Card base is from Kanban Crafts.
2.  The first layer is taken from My Craft Studio Papercrafty Library Men-y Happy Returns, giraffe print which I have tiled and cut out using Spellbinder die Labels 20.
3.  Gritty has been printed onto Supersmooth card and then cut out using Spellbinder die Labels 20.  I have coloured the giraffe with Derwent watercolour pencils and inked the edges with Dew Drops VersaMagic Gingerbread and Mango.
4.  I have added Card Candy around the edges and a pair of ballerina slippers from my stash.

Hougie Crafts Wedding Samples

Happy Easter to you all

This morning hubby and I went to see my granddaughter Alice, Son and Daughter-in-law.  Alice is now running around and starting to speak too.  It was so lovely to see her running around.  She is just a little cutie.

As you know I am on Kay Rutter's design team and was asked to make samples for her new book.  The new book appeared on Create & Craft today.  This is all about wedding stationery and will be a great boon to all those crafters who make wedding stationery.  Now that the book has appeared on TV I can now show you my samples which are also in the book.  I hope you like them.  I went with a colour theme that was different.
