My Birthday Candy

Hello Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

I am glad to be home after having an amazing holiday in Turkey with my lovely hubby Rick.
I will be posting later in the week photographs of our time in Istanbul and a couple of the lovely lace I got.

On Saturday it is my birthday and I am celebrating by giving blog candy away to two people.
One person who comments on my mixed media blog and another who adds their name to Mr Linky below.

There are only a couple of things to do to be in with a chance and that is:

1. Be a follower of my blog
2. Leave a comment and add your name to Mr Linky

Why not pop on over to my mixed media blog for another chance at winning!

Thanks for all your support and inspiration.

Istanbul Turkey 2016

Good Morning Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

An early post this morning as off to see my parents.

As you know Rick and I went to Turkey for our holiday this year.  The first couple of days we spent in Istanbul which has been on my husbands bucket list for a while.

I was last there in 1988 and it sure has changed and developed for the better!

We took this photograph from the Topkapi Palace which looks across the Bosphorus.

This is the Harem in the Palace. The architecture and fabulous mosaics are stunning!

The work that had gone into decorating the palace is awesome. I particularly love these stained glass windows.

This is Aya Sophie, it is under restoration and again the inside is magnificent.

An inside view from Aya Sophia, you can see in the middle Mary with baby Jesus.

Sultan Ahmet mosque.

This shows the inside mosaics of the mosque. AMAZING!

Information below regarding this amazing Obelisk.

This is a photo of hubby and I on our last day in Istanbul.

Finally as you all know I love my lace and the above 2 photographs are what I brought back with me.

We did visit the Grand Bazaar and Spice Bazaar too but for some reason the photographs haven't turned out at all. So disappointed!

I hope that you have enjoyed just a small selection of photographs from our time in Istanbul.
The hotel, food and most of all people of Istanbul were so friendly which is why we love holidaying there!

If you get the opportunity to visit this amazing city please do, you will not be disappointed.

That's it for now.
